Software Developer

Moodlerooms seeks a highly qualified and motivated Software Developer to be a key member of our development team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a growing, successful firm. The Software Developer's primary responsibility will be the development and enhancement of Moodle features and the support of subsystems in order to satisfy business requirements. The successful candidate must be able to function in a high growth business that is technologically sophisticated, high performance and high demand. The Software Developer will assist in the creation of design documentation and test plans. The developer must have the ability to work independently, as well as part of a small team. The developer should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with precise attention to detail. Experience in Moodle development is highly preferred.

Requirements:

* Minimum of 4 years in a professional PHP development environment.
* Extensive knowledge of PHP 5, MySQL 5, Apache 2 and Linux. Ubuntu experience preferred.
* Experience with object-oriented programming.
* Experience with code repository tools, PHP IDE's and debuggers. Subversion, Eclipse or NetBeans and XDebugger preferred.
* A deep understanding of CSS, XML, JavaScript, Ajax, Web Services and SQL.
* Familiarity with open source web development and standards.
* A bachelor’s degree in informational technologies is preferred but not required where sufficient work experience exists.

Software Quality Assurance Analyst

Moodlerooms seeks a highly qualified and motivated Software QA Manager to be a key member of our development team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a growing, successful firm. The Software QA Manager’s primary responsibility will be to establish the activities of a software quality assurance function. The QA Manager will establish test strategies and create test plans, execute tests (manually and automated test scripts) and document results. Product defects will be managed through bug tracking software. It is priority to become knowledgeable in new product functionality and specifications prior to testing to ensure the delivered product meets internal and customer expectations.

General Description:
This is a hands-on management role responsible for building from ground up a software quality assurance team or teams. The ideal candidate will have experience with the following:
• Thorough understanding of project delivery software development life cycle principles (SDLC),
• Proven experience testing medium to large scale software projects involving new application development as well as maintenance projects,
• Developing quality standards for company products.
• Developing and executing software test plans, with experience in test automation and scripting languages.
• Analyzing test results to ensure functionality performs as designed and recommending corrective action in the cases where it doesn't.
• Solid understanding of debugging techniques, error handling, and automation of processes is recommended,
• Maintaining documentation of test results.
• Identifying metrics that convey the state of product quality and reporting on those metrics.
• Knowledge of PHP, JIRA, and/or Moodle a plus.

Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Experience:
Minimum of 4 years experience in as a product tester, quality assurance analyst, or programmer, with at least 2 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role. Experience working on an Agile development team and a thorough understanding of Agile development principals required. Hands-on experience using automation tools. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal; ability to lead and direct multiple projects simultaneously; team player with proven leadership ability.

Client Support Manager

Moodlerooms is seeking an experienced Client Support Manager to ensure Moodlerooms’ clients receive the highest quality production support services in the learning management industry. The CSM will lead all client-facing production support processes in a matrix delivery model. Moodlerooms has partnered with a world-class U.S.-based service desk company to provide Level 1 and Level 2 help desk services. Level 3 technical support services are provided by internal Moodlerooms technical staff. Emphasis of the position is to measure and manage support quality and service levels according to the established standards. The CSM will continuously, through formal and informal means, measure client satisfaction and Moodlerooms’ delivery on service level agreements, driving corrective actions when and where needed, with both the external provider and internal support providers.

The successful candidate will have significant prior experience in an IT service desk or senior level IT client support role. The candidate will be highly motivated and possess superior written and verbal communication skills. The CSM will possess excellent organizational skills and will lead the daily review and triage of production support incidents to ensure work priorities and resources are continuously aligned. The CSM will represent Moodlerooms in client communications, meetings and contacts related to production support.

The CSM will work with the service providers to design highly effective closed loop measurement and management systems and develop strategies for continuous improvement.


Requirements
· Minimum five years experience supervising or managing IT production support processes
· Three year experience managing client relationships delivering IT services
· Demonstrated understanding of ITIL service desk standards and practices
· Experience organizing Help Desk resources (e.g. FAQ’s, Knowledgebase, Training Resources)
· Superior analysis and data measurement skills
· Minimum three years experience managing vendor relationships and delivery
· Proven ability to manage resources in a matrix staffing environment

Marketing Associate- Writer

Position
Moodlerooms is looking for an experienced writer to join its Baltimore headquarters to assist with writing responses to RFPs. The writer will also support the rest of the marketing department in planning and developing general marketing collateral, campaigns and events.

Responsibilities:
• Supporting and managing the process to develop written proposals
• Writing proposals using existing information from RFP library and information from subject matter experts (SMEs) as appropriate
• Managing/ coordinating/supporting the schedule, assignments, proposal content, and strategy
• Collaborating with and leading SMEs and sales directors to plan and develop an effective, customer-focused proposal
• Ensuring that proposals comply with solicitation requirements and are delivered on time
• Producing and performing quality assurance on final products
• Maintaining stock information and materials in the current proposal library
• Assisting with development of general marketing collateral, such as sales presentations, one-pagers, brochures, white papers etc.

Required Skills:
• Strong writing and editing skills (1-2 years writing experience required. At least 1 year of experience writing proposals is preferred but not required.)
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to quickly learn technical concepts
• Above-average attention to detail
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of personnel

The position will specialize in internet campaigns, lead development and nurturing and long term planning of prospect/customer communications. The marketing role will work hand in hand with our sales and sales operations teams to ensure all contacts are easily transitioned into the sales pipeline. • Exceptional writing skills with a strong focus in business to business communications. Candidate should also be versatile to contribute short-form, advertisement-based copy for marketing collateral and campaigns
• Comfort communicating with the public, current customers, and industry leaders via email, phone and in-person at conferences and exhibitions (external)
• Strong communicator internally with all stakeholders, at peer and executive level (internal)
• The ability to make highly technical language accessible to non-technical audiences
• Capable of designing flow charts and communication paths in response to various prospect and customer behaviors
• Applying business intelligence to a scoring system to ensure high quality prospects are properly nurtured
• Provide sales support services by creating and updating marketing material and presentations
