Baltimore, MD — Together with the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, Moodlerooms, Inc., a leading provider of reliable, secure and scalable learning management solutions with open-source Moodle at the core, has announced the intent to fully integrate eFolioWorld, an easy-to-use and portable Web-based e-portfolio solution, with Moodlerooms’ enterprise learning management platform.
Originally developed in 2001, eFolio was intended to provide statewide e-portfolio infrastructure for learning and workforce goals of individual Minnesota students and residents (www.efoliomn.com). In 2007, Minnesota State Colleges and Universities and Avenet (the original eFolio software developer www.avenet.net) created a joint venture to offer eFolio technology to educational institutions around the globe under the brand eFolioWorld (www.efoliworld.com). Recently, the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system launched a new version of eFolio that empowers individual e-portfolio users to create a living showcase of their education, work and personal achievements. Features include:
Portability to import and export standards-based portfolios
Multiple views from a single repository of content
Social aspects of learning with embedded Web 2.0 functionality
Competency mapping and learning outcomes structured at the individual portfolio level
Meta tagging for searches and content management
Pages with content controlled “drag-and-drop” ease
Security settings in eFolioWorld — such as password protection, authentication, and the ability to allow or deny content modification access — combined with Moodlerooms’ secure platform keep sensitive information safe.
