Baltimore, MD — The Vermont State Colleges, a system of five public colleges located throughout Vermont that offer two- and four-year programs in technology and liberal arts, has decided to transition to Moodlerooms’ enterprise learning management platform, joule™. This solution wraps enhanced services and developments around an open-source Moodle core to give organizations flexibility and choices to configure the perfect solution for their learning programs.

The VSC, which is currently in the process of migrating from its current proprietary LMS, made the decision after an evaluation committee of faculty and staff made a unanimous recommendation to the college presidents. Among the reasons for the VSC’s choice was ease of use, reduced complexity and support needs for the colleges, predictable pricing and interoperability with their Datatel ERP.

“Our faculty was key in our evaluation of a new LMS, and they chose joule because they liked the flexibility, look and feel and ease of use. joule offered a more intuitive user interface for the faculty, whereas older versions of our previous proprietary LMS were more clunky and harder to use," explains Linda Hilton, Chief Information Officer at the Vermont State Colleges. “Moodlerooms’ relationship with Datatel was also very important to us and is helping us create a more connected learning architecture.”

The Vermont State Colleges is also one of several Moodlerooms clients piloting Moodlerooms and Datatel’s Intelligent Learning Platform, which offers a combination of joule, Datatel’s Colleague ERP and Datatel Portal.
