Introduction to Moodle 1.x/2.0
The Introduction to Moodle and Joule workshop provides you with an essential foundation of the tools available in the system. The facilitator will guide participants through a number of hands-on activities to review site navigation, use of commonly used blocks, resources and activities. This training is designed for new Moodle users - those with no prior experience in Learning Management Systems, or those who are migrating from another Learning Management System and want to understand the core features of Moodle and Joule. Clients with prior LMS experience are recommended to dive straight into the Course Building for Instructors workshop.
Appropriate For: Moodle and Joule | Time Investment: 1 day (6 hrs.) | Cost: $2,500
Course Building for Instructors in 1.x/2
The Course Building for Instructors workshop is designed to give future Moodle/Joule instructors a deep dive into course building. At Moodlerooms, we believe that online instructors experience the best successes using a crawl-walk-run approach, starting with the basics, experiencing results and then later incorporating into their courses additional, more complex functionality as they build confidence in their online competence. This workshop reviews with participants the following key topics to help them get started on their path to online instruction expertise:
- The Course Administration panel
- Popular and easy-to-use blocks
- Adding resources
- Utilizing commonly used and powerful activities, such as Forum, Assignment, Glossary and Quiz
Users are encouraged to bring their own source materials, whereby the course facilitator will help guide them into converting some of those materials into their first online Moodle/Joule course.
Appropriate For: Moodle and Joule | Time Investment: 2 days (6 hrs. each) | Cost: $4,000
What’s New in 2
The What’s New in 2 workshop is designed to bring experienced Moodlers to a level of comfort and confidence on the numerous new features and functionality available in Moodle and Joule 2. This course is designed for both administrators and instructors who have previous experience and competency in the Moodle/Joule 1.x environment. Many of the same concepts discussed in the online and webinar courses will be explored in this workshop, so the purchase of both is not necessarily recommended, although concepts will be reinforced via hands-on experimentation.
