Moodlerooms understands that our clients have been delivering high quality education for many years. A number of systems provide the ability to build and deliver online courses, and our clients have used all of them. When these courses have not already been built and delivered in Moodle/joule, some type of migration from your existing LMS system to the Moodlerooms platform will be necessary. Moodlerooms has significant expertise in this process and offers valuable utilities and services to assist you with this transition process.
Self-Conversion
joule includes a valuable course conversion utility that allows your staff to migrate content from another LMS. Our Blackboard, Desire2Learn, WebCT and ANGEL converter is designed specifically to speed up the transition process. Your staff can batch convert an unlimited number of courses to joule at any time as a part of our proposed solution. During the implementation process, our team can provide a consultative session on this process to enable successful self-conversion.
It is critical to note that once you have transferred all of your course contents into joule, some “clean up” is likely required. Imagine that you are moving, have packed up your kitchen in your old house and are now unpacking the contents in your new house. Your new kitchen may have entirely different counter space, cabinets and layout, which means your kitchen items will require some reorganization to best fit in the new space. Migrating courses from one LMS to another is very similar. Following conversion using joule’s utilities, courses will be ready for quality assurance and clean up by your instructors or course designers.
Batch Conversion Services
Many of Moodlerooms’ clients have instructional design covered but need some extra hands on deck for the actual conversion process. Moodlerooms’ team can perform all batch conversion tasks or work with your team to convert just a select number of courses, allowing your team to focus on quality assurance and clean up. Batch conversion of courses from Blackboard CE or Vista require this option.
Moodlerooms’ Transition Assistance Program (TAP) is designed to assist schools in migrating from their current LMS without the added financial burden of paying for two LMS solutions. This program is part of Moodlerooms’ commitment to making it even easier for clients to migrate to joule.
