Moodle 200 - Site Administration

Moodle 200 is a 10-contact hour and 1.0 CEU instructor-led, interactive online course. It is an introduction to some of the most common, most basic, most important tasks performed by Moodle site administrators.
Over fourteen (14) consecutive days participants should expect to spend 30 minutes to 1 hour each day completing Moodle 200 activities and configuring their own production site or a Practice Site. Based upon the prior knowledge gained first as a Moodle learner (in Moodle 100) and then a Moodle [ii]nstructional designer[/i] (in Moodle 101), during Moodle 200 you explore Moodle primarily from the perspective of the site administrator.
Prerequisite: Moodle 100, 101
Throughout this course there are discussions, tutorials and assignments by the end of which participants will be able to:
- choose an authentication method
- add a new user
- upload users from a text file
- create a new role and assign it in a context
- edit user policies
- add courses
- schedule automated backups
- edit language strings
- add modules and enable blocks and filters
- edit site policies
- choose a new theme
- add sticky blocks to courses and to My Moodle
- edit front page settings
- upload site files
- contribute to official Moodle Documentation

In a fourteen day course, it is not possible to master (or even consider) all of the tasks of Moodle administration. However, participation in this course will help you begin thinking like a Moodle administrator and will give you the opportunity to discuss Moodle administration with course facilitators, other site administration team members from your enterprise, and other participants.
Each day, you will
1. participate in a discussion about the day's task (scored)
2. learn to perform one administrative task (not scored)
3. submit an assignment demonstrating that you have mastered the task (scored)
Completion of this course makes individuals participating in the Moodlerooms Certified Trainer Program eligible for the Moodle Site Administrator endorsement.
