ACTION LEARNING Online Courses for Individual Instructors
Teachers, instructors and corporate trainers are master learners. These master learners take seriously their role as an instructional leader. Whether they work with learners in K-12 schools, higher education, in the workplace or professional associations - their mission is the same. These instructors themselves engage in the process of action learning using the vehicle of professional development.
Action learning is an educational process whereby the participants study their own actions and experience in order to improve performance. It enables each person to:
- reflect on and review the actions they have taken
- note the learning points that came about
- resolve to let their new learning guide future action and improve performance.
- develop a new focus on research into actions taken
- use the new knowledge that emerges
- determine how the final result should lead to the improvement of skills and performance.
Moodlerooms’ action learning for individual instructors is linked philosophically to Moodle’s social constructionist foundation. Professional development is a continuous process of individual and collective examination and improvement of practice. It should enable individual instructors to:
- make complex decisions
- dentify and solve problems
- connect theory, practice, and participant outcomes
Moodlerooms provides the individual instructor with the ability to convert their action learning into effective courses to meet the needs of their course participants.
